Yuri Chika
Born: Yokohama, Japan on May 1st, 1981.
Yuri Chika made her major debut with the CD album “hana” (Toshiba EMI) in July 2001.
Her first single CD “I cry”, produced by Hawaii-based songwriter Kenneth Makuakane,
obtained her current reputation as an Artist being ranked top for 12 consecutive weeks
in request category at Hawaii FM station “102.7″.
Currently, she has released four singles and eight albums.
Her enthusiastic devotion to music activities go beyond language boundaries
by singing in English, Japanese, Mandarin,
and have released CDs in various countries including US, South Africa, China, Taiwan,
Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia and Thailand.
Performed a concerts for J-ASEAN POPs in 2003 as a part of cultural exchanges
between Japan/ ASEAN countries,
and became the first foreign singer ever to hold solo concert in Guangzhou, China in March 2003.
The second solo concert in China was held the following November,
for the 40th Anniversary for Foreign Studies at Guangdong University.
Performed live concert at ‘Ron cafe’ at Enoshima、Shonan in June 2006,
supporting the “Candle Night for One Million People” event.
The live recording CD of the event was released in February 2007.
Participated in “SETSTOCK ’07″, a Hiroshima Summer Festival held in July.
Released a new album ‘Island Moments’ covering the masterpiece tracks
from the “Carpenters” albums in November,
providing her talented new aspect to her fans around the world.
Performed at Hiroshima Flower Festival, a Japan/China Friendship Event in Kanazawa Castle.
Also, has performed at Hot Field Summer Festival in Hokuriku in 2012,
and also has made a special appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee US.
Blessed by love of her families and becoming mother of a child,
Yuri Chika today actively engage with live performance activities enthusiastically in search for perfection.
